Mobius Action Camera

I've had this camera for a while now and because it's such a great little device I decided to write a little bit about it.

The Mobius is a small 1080p action camera at first but can also be used as a dashcam, webcam, photo camera (including a time-lapse photo mode), FPV (First Person View) cam (used on remote controlled vehicles and drones) and security/spy cam (it has motion detection) so you see, it's very versatile!

The Mobius measures 61 x 35 x 18 mm (2½ x 1½ x ¾ inches) which is about the size of a Tic Tac box and weighs just 39 gram.

The picture the camera produces is colorful, clear and sharp (from corner to corner) and can be compared with other (more expensive) action cameras and HD camcorders. That's how good it is, and that for only 50 euro!

The camera comes with a removable “mounting base holder and sleeve” that firmly connects it to a standard tripod screw mount (or you can attach the sleeve to any flat surface with double-sided tape or velcro for instance).

With the tripod screw mount module attached to the sleeve the Mobius can be attached to various optional mounting brackets available, like car mounts, a helmet mount, a bike handle mount and of course to any standard tripod.

The Mobius has a wide-angle lens with a view angle of about 90 degrees so it captures quite a lot of it's surroundings with minimal fisheye distortion.

The many settings of the Mobius can be adjusted through the "Mobius Configuration Utility" for Windows (for Mac a web-based script is available). You can also hook it up to your Android phone and adjust the settings on the go through an app.

The reason I bought one is because I'm in the market for a quadcopter (drone) and I want to install the Mobius underneath it so I can record aerial videos (and maybe later use it with a FPV setup). Meanwhile I'm using the Mobius as a pocket camcorder, hatcam, dashcam and webcam (used for this site) regularly.

Techmoan did an excellent review on the Mobius with various video samples:

You can buy the Mobius on eBay from the manufacturer (eletoponline365) itself here, that's where I got mine and I can recommend them.
